Today

Just a quick look on today's hair and outfit. My pretty new old white blouse, my pretty pretty freddies and my favourite red/white dotted belt. I also used my new old purse today. I only bought it yesterday at a fleamarket and I love it!! Anything with bamboo catches my eye. I didn't put my hair in curls last night so, I braided my hair but had 2 rolls on the back of my head accompanied by bows matching my belt :).

Me, my friends and A'dam

As I mentioned in my last post on tuesday. I was going to A'dam (Amsterdam) on wednesday, when it was the national holiday of Belgium. A good reason to go to another country :). I went together with Jana and Hanne, 2 of my closest friends!! We really had a blast!! The weather was fine, the company was amazing, but above all what a city!! We started the day in the original part of the city where all the canals just run throught the streets. Very cozy and very very beautiful!! We found a few lovely vintage stores. In one of them I bought a pretty ring, I think from the 30s or style 30s, it has an art deco feel to it. Then in another store I bought beautiful earrings. Pretty glamourous ones. I also bought new wedges, which are beautiful, but I found them in the stinky, ugly, touristic streets of Amsterdam, which we really didn't like and went out as soon as we could. Luckilly we stayed as long as we could in the old, beautiful part !! And ............ now you can finally see my other hat I've been telling you about. I absolutely love it. I even got a few compliments the day itself. Even at one of the vintage stores (I love vintage, where I bought a dress from earlier on their website), they asked me if they could take a picture of me, for their blog/facebook. The nice thing she said, while taking lot's and lot's of picture, was that I had so many details to photograph that she couldn't stop taking pictures. But enough mumbling, now some pictures.
Photobucket
Amsterdam really has lots and lots of beautiful buildings. A lot of them from the Art Deco's and the Art Nouveaus. I fell in love with this theater immediatly. Even the inside was amazing (that picture was a bit too blurry).

Finally, this is me looking at the clothes in the vintage store where I bought my earrings. It was called "Joosje, vintage and design".

Swedens finest

and a new purse! I told you I still had 2 posts about Sweden to go. Well, I decided that I'm only going to do one. The second was going to be about my shoppingspree I had in Sweden. But I think it's going to be more fun if I show you all my pretty things in other posts. So here's the first one. This dress is absolutely beautiful. The perfect bordeaux red with a beautiful print. The front has 2 triangular peepholes and a button. In the neckline there are also 2 buttons, but I didn't photograph it. The dress was a bit too long, but my mother fixed that for me !! And to match it, I woar my reindeerbelt which worked perfectly!! Tomorrow is Belgium's national holiday, but I'm going to Amsterdam in the Netherlands with my friends. Walking around and having drinks all day long!! Enjoy your tuesday everybody!!

Day to day

Here are some pictures from this weeks outfits. I only didn't photograph tuesday's outfit, but it was a dress you've allready seen, so no biggy!! In the first outfit you can also see one of my new bags. This one is from H&M (bought in sale now) and I just love it, the pretty pale blue and the bamboo detailing, pretty pretty!! I woar a very basic outfit, a pencil skirt and a shirt, seeing that it's still mostly hot every day.
Photobucket
Now in the second outfit you can see my new skirt, I showed you earlier. But somehow in the pictures it looks much more orange than it really is. You can also see a peek of my shoecollection in the background.
Photobucket
And then today's outfit, was my Vivien of Holloway trousers (no they are not slimlegs but I was bending over to take a picture from my shoes, hence the slimleg) and a new shirt I only bought tuesday. I was searching for a white shirt with white embroideries or detailing for oohhh so long and now I found one. You can't see the embroideries on the pictures though but they are really pretty and I love the sleeves on the shirt!! With this I woar my new shoes I bought a while ago (I allready mentioned them). They were old stock from the 40s/50s and were the last pair in my size!!! They kind of are grannie shoes but I like them :) and they are really comfy too, so that's a bonus. And I woar my new ribbon first the first time today, much better then the synthetic one that I got.
Oh yeah, I went to a jobinterview today for one of my favourite vintage stores. It was a really cozy interview with 2 other applicants while sitting on a terras from the café next door. But the unfortunate thing was that they were only searching for people for their familyshop now (which isn't vintage, just second hand). But the owner was still interested in me and she could really see me in one of her vintage stores, so she's going to keep me in mind when they have an open spot. They are still opening other new shops, so thumbs!!!

Sweden part 5 the beautiful buildings

Besides beautiful nature, the cities of Sweden really have amazing buildings. Very old ones also!!! Since I studied interior design, I'm really interest in the inside of a building but my passion for design goes beyond the inside. I'm really interested into architecture as well. And what beautiful outsides they were. Here are a couple of picture of them. The first 3 are taken in Malmö.
Photobucket
The second 4 were taken in Stockholm. The day when we were taking a boattrip.
Photobucket
The next are pretty buildings by the waterside. Two of them, seen on our boattrip when we were in Stockholm.
Photobucket
The last ones, are also from Stockholm. You see a cute Konditori in the bottom picture. Speaking of Konditori. I wanted to go to Valand in Stockholm and eat yummy cakes and stuff. But unfortunately they were closed until July. So I was a month to soon, to eat at Valand. So I'm certainly going back to Stockholm. Off course, not only because of that, just because I love the city!!!!

Now we are nearing the end of Sweden picture. There are only 2 parts left that I need to show you :). Until then enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Cupcakes

This thursday, I bought the best book ever !! It's a book about how to decorate cupcakes. It has different themes, tips and trics and how to decorate and tips for using extra different candy to decorate with. I just love it !!! I'm passionate about baking and just can't wait to bake something now. But alas the weather is really hot to bake something now. So hopefully a little less heathwave and a little more baking.

When there are diamonds in your tea

Ok, this will be my last and 6th post for the day. This last post is a look upon my favorite and most prettiest earrings, the ones from the 40s and 50s. The last couple of weeks I've found a lot of them and that makes me glad. But a gal can never have enough pretty earrings, because without them I feel naked, then my outfit isn't complete. And underneath my beautiful earrings you can see my collection of 50s plates and cups. You can also see one of my favourite necklaces at the moment, the red and white plastic pearl one.

The birds

The birds is about today's outfit. It was very birdie!!! There were birds on my shirt, birds on my bracelet and last but not least, my brooch was a red 'n white swalow!! And to top it all, I was a bit less warm today, so I finally got to wear my Vivien of Holloway pants, which fits me like a glove. You can also see new pretty red bows in my hair.

Sweden part 4 the dangerous activities

Ok, much danger wasn't around but to sum up the most dangerous things we did....... We build campfires, we kajaked across the ocean (ok, more like a lake) and we looked over Sweden standing in our treehouse. I really like to kajak, I kajaked in France last summer for the first time and really enjoyed it then and I really enjoyed it now too. Allthough there wasn't anything dangerous, I still wanted to share these activities with you.

Days to work

This is how I looked 2 times when I went to work. I'm doing a lot of experimenting with my bangs, now that they're getting longer. One day it's excellent, the other a bit less, but I'm happy that I have more options allready. The black blouse that I'm wearing is from work (H&M), I bought it for like €3,5. But I changed the frills on the shoulders, it was just too much, so I cut out one layer underneath it, and now it's much much better!! Not so going 80s shoulders anymore. And I'm also wearing it backwards, the buttons should be on my back, but I liked them better in the front.
Photobucket
In the second picture, I'm showing a lot of forehead because of my longer bangs. It's still a bit weird, but it's growing on me. I'm getting used to the nakedness. I did use a bit too much hairspray for this one, but once it's a bit longer, I don't need to use so much hairspray, but I would pin it.

Come on let's twist again

..... that's what I'm going to do in this pretty skirt!! When I cleaned out my closet once again when I came back from Sweden. I noticed that I don't have a lot of skirts that I can wear in summer. I have plenty of thick wool skirts, but hardly any summery ones. Now when I saw this beauty I know it was meant to be.

Covered in tulips

Last night after work, I was going through my routine of checking all the blogs I follow and checking ebay and other vintage sites. That was just when I came across this beautiful beautiful dress from the 50s. The coulours, the print, everything about it was beautiful. And it was my size. I hesitated a little bit about the price, checked my monthly moneystuff in my head and decided that I could buy it. And I'm glad I did, I love it so much. Now I'm just praying it will arrive as soon as possible. Sorry about the bad picture quality I couldn't copy the picture from the site, so I had to use copy paste and the pictures were rather small.

Dark blue topper

I've been searching for the perfect little 40s/50s hat. But whenever I find one, it's too expensive, it's on ebay and I don't win it, it doesn't ship to my country, always an issue..... Now when I was browsing ebay for hats again. I found 2 of the most darling little hats ever from the same seller. Together they were only $11, so very very very cheap, but I was afraid of the shipping costs, because the seller was in America and shipping to Belgium isn't always that cheap. But my luck had turned and I got both hats for a mere total of $21 which is about €16. So you can imagine my hapiness. Now again stopping with the mumbling. This is how I looked in the morning to go to a thriftstore wearing one of my new old pretty hats. It's crazy to imagine that somebody made it by hand. Oh yeah even the label is still in the hat it says Richard of Milford. I almost forgot to mention the story behind them getting on ebay. The seller mentioned that he was helping out a friend whose grandma needed to go into a retirementhome and because of that they were selling all kinds of stuff that she didn't need anymore. So amongst those things were my 2 beauties. And if you look at it, by me bying those 2 hats, I'm helping an old lady in the future.
Photobucket
And a little hint for my other hat is, it has pink flowers and green stuff, but you'll just have to wait a little bit longer to see it.

Is it hair?!

Seeing that I'm working a lot this week (crazy people are shopping because of the sales) and because of that am super tired to do anything else. So the only thing I get to show you is how my hair looked on thursday. Then secondly because of the heat, I can hardly sleep at night and combined with all the work and really ain't that good. And ohh yeah, talking about airco, my store doesn't really have it, so can you say ....... HEAT WAVE................. But enough mumbling let's go over to the pictures, you'll sure enjoy that much more then my mumbling.
